Deciphering the Role of the Microbiome in
Autoimmune Thyroid & Ocular Disease
Cardiff, UK April 21-22, 2016
INDIGO (Investigation of Novel biomarkers and Definition of the role of the microbiome in Graves Orbitopathy) and EUGOGO (EUropean Group of Graves’ Orbitopathy) are coming together during April 2016 in Cardiff for the first joint symposium of the 2 groups.
The meeting is a rare opportunity to bring together an international panel of speakers from the thyroid autoimmunity and ophthalmology communities in addition to experts on the microbiome to discuss new concepts on the origins of Graves’ disease and orbitopathy.
The meeting has been endorsed by the British Thyroid Association.
Indigo partners will be actively involved in three forthcoming congresses: the Human Gut Microbiome and Diseases Congress, the International Thyroid Congress and the UK Probiotics Conference.
The “HUMAN GUT MICROBIOME AND DISEASES” congress, organized by the Institute of Biomedical Technologies of the National Research Council in Milan on June 25th-26th, will be focused on the analysis of the correlation between microbiome disbiosys and Human pathologies for the development of diagnostic tools and effective therapies.

The UK Probiotics Conference 2015 will be held in the Royal Holloway campus of the University of London (UK) from the 29th of June to the 1st of July.

The 15th International Thyroid Congress will be hosted by the American Thyroid Association in Orlando (Florida) from the 18th until the 23rd of October 2015.

Indigo-EUGOGO joint meeting
The Universitaetsklinikum Essen hosted the annual INDIGO-EUGOGO joint meeting from the 9th until the 11th of April 2015.
The kick-off meeting took place from the 16th until the 17th of May 2014 in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK.
The meeting was linked to the ‘Thyroid Eye Disease in the 21st Century’ event which was a joint venture between EUGOGO and TEAMeD and included discussion with endocrinologists, ophthalmologists, basic scientists and people with GO/TED.
